In 2008, four VPs of Talent sat down at a conference table to discuss talent management issues. They each wanted to learn from their peers – other senior talent management leaders – but were frustrated with their options. Networking typically meant paying thousands to join a "council" or "learning group", or attending an association meeting where few attendees were true peers.
Pleased with their initial meeting, they thought that other talent management leaders might enjoy the same opportunity. They concluded that talent leaders were smart enough and connected enough to organize their own networking, without outside help. With the sole purpose of helping talent management practitioners learn, grow and succeed, the New Talent Management Network was born.
Since then, our members have started City Groups around the world. We've conducted meaningful research on the talent topics most critical to your success. We've highlighted the most insightful research others have conducted on talent issues. We're proud of what we've done, but we can do much better . . .
Thanks for your support!
New Talent Management Network
As a talent management leader, you're uniquely positioned to help your organization win. Our job is to make you as effective as possible at your job.
The goal of the NMTN is to be the best place for talent management practitioners to learn, grow and succeed. We increase your knowledge through our original talent management research. We allow you to network with other practitioners at our City Groups. We connect practitioners seeking information from their corporate peers. We even provide discounts on popular conferences!
And, it's all free. Consistent with our founding principles, you shouldn't have to pay to network and learn.
What's Next?: We plan to add more services to help you succeed, including:
Expanding and better supporting City Groups: City Groups present an in-person networking opportunity for you to connect with your peers. We will provide more support for existing groups and more strongly support creation of new groups.
Enabling more frequent, more interactive communication: We'll be reaching out to you monthly with our NTMN newsletter. We'll be creating a new website that provides more and easier to access resources.
Developing a talent management leader certification process: What makes a great
talent leader? We can add value to our field by defining "great" and offering members the opportunity to develop those capabilities and have them recognized.
Continuing our original research: No other organization conducts and freely distributes high quality research on critical talent management issues. We'll continue this research and appreciate your continued support.
